Saint Patrick's Day is Coming Early This Year

The Feast of Saint Patrick celebration starts early this year for Elmhurst which has scheduled the St. Paddy's Day Parade on Saturday, March 8th along Spring Road and St. Charles in DuPage County, Illinois. St. Patrick is everyone's patron saint in March--including my Grandmother Gertrudis Salustiana who was a devoted faithful of St. Paddy's, especially since the saint and my Grandmother shared birthdays during the same month in March. March 17th is the original date for St. Patrick's Day, even when everyone is Irish during the whole month. The Chicago River turns green for St. Paddy's Day early on March 15 at 10 o'clock in the morning; thanks to the Journeymen Plumbers, during the annual Chicago River dyeing into a bright and colorful Kelly Green along Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive. Many visitors, spectators, and St. Patrick's Day fans will be there seeing green on that day. The Chicago River bridges between River North and the Loop also make for a great river-dyeing-green viewing experience and vantage points for photos to remember seeing the Chicago River in green for St. Paddy's Day early on Friday, March 15th at 10 a.m. The Greening of the Chicago River kicks off the St. Patrick's Day Weekend when everyone is Irish for the festivities and the celebration of the St. Paddy's Day Parades.  The Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade is also on March 15th at Noon, starting from Columbus Drive and Balbo, along Lake Michigan in Illinois.
