First Nevisian Church Open to Slaves

On the small Caribbean island of Nevis, this once-used Church, known as Cottle Church and completed in 1824, is now in ruins and open to the public for viewing. It was the first Church on the island open for anyone to come and worship, including slaves. When my husband and I visited this Church while on vacation in Nevis, it was misty and lightly raining, and there was absolutely no one else around in the open field . It felt like we stepped back into time and felt a piece of history of the island. The Church is well-preserved and is a must for anyone to see when visiting the island.
