CNN PRODUCER NOTE     andreaviale is a student from Caracas, Venezuela. Andrea tells CNN that during the nationwide protest she didn't get to see many protests in her area: "On February 17th some of my neighbors attempted to protest by setting a tire on fire just right in front of our building. The people that live across the road, in one of the Mision Vivienda buildings, came to the site of the protests, broke the garage gate and push the tires to our residence." The Great Housing Mission, or Mision Vivienda in Spanish, is a project started by late president Hugo Chavez. This government-funded program gives houses to families in need. Andrea says that since that incident you barely see any barricades on the streets. "However, some days you can hear the pot banging at 8pm.” But last Saturday was different… “There was more pot banging,” compared to other days, Andrea says.
