This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Salute to troops

    Mama I'm coming home!

My baby cousin Andy, as he is known by the family, is the only son to My Aunt Carol and Uncle Donnie and only brother/sibling to his sister Patty. Andy is a Medic and is known to the Army as Lt. Andrew Shields. His Dad served in the Navy and recalled returning home as we waited on Andy to arrive. Finally, as the Welcome Home Bikers stood with American Flags and we held a huge Welcome home sign, there came Lt. Shields, the first to come down the walk. His first eye contact was his Mom but it wouldn't be like the Andy we know to pass by the WHB without shaking hands and showing his respect in return. And so he did as his Mama shook in anticipation, his Dad tightly held back tears and his baby sister just balled in delight that her big brother was finally home. Then he reaches his Moms arms and Lt. Shields is now Andy once again, at least to us. He can't wait to eat the eaclaire cake, fudge and celebrate all that he has accomplished.
Lt. Andy Shields, We Love You, We Salute You!
