    My Ukraine Great Grandparents

     

    Here is a picture of my great grandparents celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with me and my siblings in California. They both migrated from Odessa in the Ukraine. I don't know when they migrated but their children were all born in America.

     

    I only learned they were from the Ukraine when my great uncle passed away and heard family talking about their ancestry.

     

    When my great grandmother passed away it was only a few months later that my great grandfather did too. My mother said my great grandfather passed away from a broken heart.

     

    I remember both of them very well even though I was only about 6 yrs old when they died. Both had very heavy Russian accents, both were extremely nice and caring.

     

    I remember the day of their 50th celebration very well, it was in 1957. They both died a year later.
