Vaccinations – this is the best way to protect your pet from diseases like rabies, distemper and cough. For dogs, you can even immunize them against canine flu and the like. Know that there are vaccines that are given every 3 years or more. To learn more about this, you can talk to your vet now regarding which vaccines are best for your pets based on health status, exposure and age.

Provide proper exercise and good nutrition – This is one of the keys in order to last your pet’s good health. Always keep your pets on a high quality dies which will address their certain healthy needs, activity level and age. On the other hand, regular exercise will keep your pet in a lean body while providing a great bonding experience. You can actually talk to your vet so you can have the right nutrition and exercise plan for your pets.

Routine grooming – This will include routine ear cleaning and nail trimming. Know that a strong odor or discharge from the ears of your pet can be a sign of an infection. Proper nail trimming, on the other hand can keep your pets from getting caught and injured while they are walking.

Dental care – Taking good care of your pet’s teeth is very important in order to maintain their overall health. You must understand that an infection that arises from the mouth can spread to the other parts of the body. Plaque as well as tartar build up can cause bad breath and even lead to lose tooth. Vets recommend brushing twice every week in order to keep the teeth clean and to prevent problems.
