I was introduced to marijuana (MaryJane) as a young soldier in Vietnam and we developed a relationship very quickly. I come from alcoholic parents and an abusive childhood so I needed to get far away from alcohol, MaryJane provided refuge to a young soldier's fears and she was very portable, she was with throughout my almost two years I toured that beautiful Country. I was so impressed with her that I brought her home with me. The hell of war is reconciling what happened and what you did while engaged in combat with the rest of your life...one week you are a savage professional killing machine and a week later you are a civilian. MJ allowed me to dampen those conflicting feelings. She helped me sleep without the nightmares, helped calm a raging mind and gently eased me back into the real world. She is still a very close friend of mine. Is marijuana medicine? She is responsible for my sanity. Regardless of what politicians believe, what doctors believe, I am a believer.
