    I'm more than my score

SAT 90 points ruined my future dreams

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     FarahHallaba was required to take the SAT in order apply to universities abroad. She has been taking the exam since 2011, her most recent one taken this past January, which she had to travel to another country to take since it wasn't offered in Saudi Arabia at that time. "Other students in my school all take the SAT exam; they all have it as the core of their life," she said. "They put too much effort so they may achieve the Governmental Universities in Egypt's requirements or, in other words, 'please their parents' of getting the 2000 in SAT."
    - Verybecoming, CNN iReport producer

I am an international student, my parents decided to let me into the American Diploma. They thought this will guarantee me a good bright education and future.Well, it was the exact opposite! I scored 1760! A satisfactory score, but for the people I am living with SAT is the core of their lives and you are counted with your score! If you are less than 1900+ then you are a failure! After some time I was able to neglect the people's look to SAT! They do enter 6 trials per year!! I decided not to do the same; And I was confident in my skills and the dream I desire of studying Politics abroad!!
But, it was the time my life started to be disappointing when I came to my senior year and started to apply to universities- well, my dream universities! I really wondered why an English-Math exam will determine my future?! Specially that I believe I am too special in personality, determination and diplomacy! Why should a politics student get enrolled because of her math score or a reasoning test?
Why not to judge me by my personal statement dreams or an interview? Why shouldn't be the score and GPA be a scan to my average and not the only basic determinant? By the way I got GPA of 37.5! AND I took ibtoefl and scored 106! Which is pretty high, this proves I can really speak-understand English well!
But I felt so unfair when I was refused in UK universities just because am an average score SAT student! And I felt worse than this- when I contacted my DREAM university in Istanbul and they told me you need to get more 90 points to apply! Why should my dream and future stop on 90 marks? What will they add? Ain't I close? I am so determined and I can be so unique in the Faculty of international relations! Why don't they interview me? I ended up thinking about applying in USA and I did- I am not even sure if I am accepted or not, but what I know is that it's over priced! Germany? I need 130 points to get there! Or to pay 17,000 euros to compensate! What about my dream? What can I do? I won't stop here! I will study Politics-International relations abroad!! AND I WILL DO LET ALL UNIVERSITIES THAT REFUSED ME REGRET!
But will I find one to accept me? Will I be as happy as getting accepted in my dream university? SAT ruined my future plans, because I WAS JUDGED AS A FISH FOR MY ABILITY TO CLIMB A MOUNTAIN!
Why don't I get examined in History? Sociology? Politics? General Knowledge? Do projects or interviews ?! Why English and Math?! Why the 90 points!!
I really hope SAT should be reconsidered - be more individualized education than standardized!
Examiners should recognize the difference in interests and skills!
Why should a diplomat ace in Math to be so , and an engineer should not ace in philosophy or history to be one!
SAT WAS THE HARSHEST OBSTACLE IN MY LIFE SO FAR!
But I decided not to stop! I will REACH MY GOAL! Through SAT OR NOT!
BECAUSE I AM WORTH SO MUCH MORE THAN THOSE 4-digits NUMBER!! So much more ..
