What do you love about Chicago?

    More from tselone

"Chicagoland" is dragging my city through the mud!

I do not like the way the Chicagoland series is going. I believe CNN and its producers are hurting my city, more then they are helping.

So far, all I have seen is our city residents fighting and gang banging! I could see this crap on our local news, why keep dragging my city in the mud?

I love my city because it is alive on many levels; I could go to a world class museum and see ancient art, artifacts and cultural relics; I can eat at the many restaurants that cater to all different types of food and delicacies; I can visit one of the last remaining free zoos and see exotic and wild animals from all over the world; I can visit a beach; Go to a Jazz concert on any given day and I could see one of the many championship winning sports teams Chicago has created, nurtured and gave birth to.

Chicagoland is an attempt to show others that we are all animals scared to go outside of our own home. That is a lie! We love our city and if you want violence in Chicago, just take any train at 3am and get off at any station and walk several blocks and you will find it. But it does not mean my city lives and breathes violence like Chicagoland is portraying.

Chicagoland is a joke. CNN first attempted to define our city in its promo of the series by showing a photo of old Chicago and how it was bustling in the past. However, CNN failed to do research and figure out that the photo they selected was a snapshot from a movie made in Hollywood portraying Chicago...it wasn't even Chicago!!

The only good thing coming out of this series is giving Chicago's very own Billy Dec a voice. He is the proud owner of several successful restaurants and someone I admire.

CNN, please report what makes you a long lasting news organization, instead of becoming a joke and having all of Chicagoland turn its back on you!

    Thank you.
