Migrant workers are contributing greatly to the economic well-being and progress of many developing and newly-developed countries around the world. Such 'overseas workers' strive hard to make their families become financially stable and live comfortably. It can't be denied that my home-country, the Philippines, is benefiting a lot from the remittances coming from migrant workers. But it is also true that many migrant workers and would-be migrant workers around the world sometimes become easy victims of human trafficking or modern-day slavery. Some migrant workers are also working in places that don't guarantee the respect of their rights and civil liberties. Some migrant workers also become victims of abuses by their actual employers. This is my question:
Madam Michelle Obama, are you in favor of securing an international charter that will protect migrant workers' rights all over the world? Why or why not?
