This iReport is part of an assignment:
Why study abroad? Ask Michelle Obama

    La Vie en France

My name is Stephanie Acuria and I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad at France Business School in Clermont-Ferrand, France in the spring of 2013 and later intern at the U.S embassy in Paris in the summer. Thanks to the generosity and help of the Gilman Scholarship I was able to do more than what I had planned to do while abroad. During my seven months abroad, I traveled to 3 other European countries and got to visit a few cities in France as well. My study abroad experience was one I'll never forget. I studied in a country where I only dreamt of visiting and practiced the language I have been studying on a daily basis. This experience showed me that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life and opened my eyes to a completely different career plan. Due to my internship experience, I know I want to dedicate my life to a career in Diplomacy.
I think everyone deserves an opportunity and should go and explore the world that is out there because only through the experience do you truly engage and bring back a piece of all your adventures and memories when you come back home.
