Be Careful what you wish for, you may get it

Many people have not thought about some simple, but very important issues. If you have an apartment, house, car, business, bank loan and are in Crimea, all was processed through Ukraine. When you separate from Ukraine you really have nothing. You need to go to court in Ukraine and prove this property is yours and arrange for Russia to take your issue and issue Russian documents. I read today the biggest Ukraine bank, Private Bank has closed customer service and shutdown ATM;s. This can take years... the same can go for separatists in East Ukraine. All of your belongings are at risk and your company is no longer solvent. This is why the West has tried to explain, you can leave a country through a series of steps to address these issues, not 2 weeks... this will cripple Crimea... and be very costly for Russia to purchase and let all apartments, homes, companies... Russia will be bidding for the land, not what is owned and registered by Ukraine. A young man 20 with nothing... but a family man will be years getting this all sorted, no pensions until Russia kicks in, it will be drastic for average people.
