I started my weight loss journey weighing 383 pounds. I am now down over 200 pounds and still going. For people who believe women in their 50's cannot lose weight - I am proving them wrong! When I first started this journey two and a half years ago, I was desperate. I was going through 3 surgeries on my left knee, barely able to get around and I was at the end of my rope. I had actually thought this had to be the end of my life. I decided that this was NOT how my life was to end. I decided I would join a gym. That in itself was a big step. A 383 pound 50 year old women wobbling into a gym had to be a sight, but I was determined I was not going to die like this! I was met by a personal trainer who took me under his wings. He began an exercise program and introduced me to a nutritional company. The weight began coming off. The first 24 days I lost 18 pounds and a whole lot of inches. Yes, I started slow, but now I trained 3 days a week and workout 6 days a week. I'm on track to hit my goal weight this year and I will be a 250+ pound loser (winner!)
