Confederate Flag possibly displayed in high school yearbook!

    To whom this may concern,

My name is Princess Njuguna, and I am an Alumni of Claremont High School from the graduating class of 2009. To this email I have attached a picture of seniors' from Claremont High School ,who have decided to display a confederate flag for the "Senior Mob Photo" .The "Senior Mob Photo" is a representative of the current graduating Claremont class. As a person of color, I understand that everyone may not have the same views as I do, but one thing is certain, all students should be able to feel as though school is their safe haven. It is safe to say that the confederate flag has a negative connotation attached to it, and by allowing student's to display such an atrocity on campus of any sort is completely unacceptable. Furthermore to allow this photo to be published in the Claremont yearbook is a way of perpetuating racism, ignorance, and hatred. Claremont High School should be a safe haven to all students, and hopefully some action is taken to resolve this issue. Thank You for your time and consideration.
