    I am MD and was thinking of health risk for the passengers. Clearly from hijacking point of view the flight path makes sense. If you go to 40000ft decompress cabin for a few minutes you basically eliminate all passengers without the oxygen mask. Then you can descend to 22000 ft to assess if all passengers were eliminated. It can give hijacker 10 min without the oxygen to walk around the cabin and return to pilot seat take oxygen mask and continue flying in the most fuel efficient way...
