Why study abroad? Ask Michelle Obama

    More from Dhemi63

Ms. Obama, would you send your girls on study abroad? Our children died on study abroad 100% preventable!

Would you send your girls on study abroad if you knew there is no oversight, no accountability, no transparency, no registry of what happens to your children or others who are raped, molested, drugged, killed, taken to unsafe places drowned.  Programs do not share the incidents that happens on their program.

After knowing this, you will be an informed parent,  would you still make the decision to send your girls on study abroad?

Colleges and universities calls their lawyers first and you are not privy to what happen to your child. How would would you feel?

Before we push to double the numbers abroad, sanctions, regulations, accountability and a victims bill of rights must be put in place.  We want them to have world experiences just not at the cost of their lives.  Ms. Obama as you hug and kiss your girls tonight, tears are like a heavy rainfall as I write to you with the hopes of communication with you.

Mrs. Obama, the first major story made front page news throughout the US over 17 years ago where many were killed and many injured with lifelong injuries...Yes, 100% preventable.   A dad testified SUBCOMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT AND INVESTIGATIONS, COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION AND THE WORKPLACE, Hearing on Safety in Study-Abroad Programs in 2004.

Now with the many initiatives and the 100,000 Strong to China and to Latin America that you and President Obama is santioning, the number of our children doubles and still no rules and regulations.

Ms. Minaut from your office has my correspondence and so does Mr. Lierman from OPE. The parents of these beautiful faces would like to meet with you and there are many many many more grieving familes all across the US.

Lets not sell false sense of adventure to students and their parents.

Lets do it the right way like you would want  for your own girls.

Please meet our beautiful, brilliant children  who died a 100% preventable death.
