3/19 12:00 PM, Overall report of the situation

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Pei-Ying Lin documented the second day of the protest outside of the Legislative Yuan in Taipei on March 19. Lin told us that people were sitting outside and listening to speeches about democracy given by public figures and university professors. "Unlike the Taiwanese media reported, the protest is very peaceful and people were all being very helpful to each other," she said. "Some people are working very hard to deliver the news through internet because the news is very likely controlled by the government."

At 3/19 noon, there were three major spot of protests. One at the main gate, occupied mainly by political organisations. One on Qingdao east road, where the protester broke into the legislative yuan, and one on Jinan Road. Both Qingdao east road and Jinan road are mainly occupied by academics, students, and general public whose average age is slightly younger than those at the main gate.
