Online Dating Winner of the Web

    Newport Beach, California

The website http://www.deplump.com has been awarded the Corona Del Mar Highschool Winner of the Web award for 2014. It is the highest user rated site in the category. This category of the Web awards is reserved for those websites who's html (and CSS) code specifically don't tax the server resources when called upon. The goal was .024ms or better and they came in at .019 on the final test.

They set out to build a site that was going to rank quickly and easily, as well as adhere to the rules of the contest. The site beat out 9 other competitors, from 3 different school districts.

Says creator Tony Hong: "When we started the competition, we were nervous as none of us knew what the topic would be about. When we opened up the envelope and saw "online dating", we knew we had a challenge ahead of us."

The site was created (and server partitioned) in less than 3 hours, using a custom coded Wordpress template that (as per contest rules) had no more than 5 critical HTML errors that Tony's team had to solve.

These contests help young students build great html skills as well as troubleshooting skills that will serve them well into the future.
