    UNITED NATIONS WORLD WATER DAY 2014
    The event was held in Nigeria in riverine area of Lagos state Nigeria on the 17th to 22nd of March 2014 conducted by the sterling heights children foundation.

     

    The event the power of water would feature children between the ages of 5 years old to 11 years old performing projects on water ranging from building models of hydroelectric power stations,steam engines,solar water bottle illumination for homes in rural areas ,water wheels, to various water purification methods using natural energy sources like ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT from the sun,amongst other numerous purification methods using the renewable enegry concept.

     

    This programme would be taken to rural communities and villages by the children and taught to the villagers by the children,furthermore a mini project exhibition would be held to showcase these projects and to promote exchange of knowledge among their peers and the community at large.

     

    The health benefits as well as the dangerous consequences of drinking harmful or poorly treated water would be highlighted as well as hands on sessions on various water purification methods done by the children in a workshop session for the community.
