    Everyone loves apple pie especially served warm and topped with a little whip cream or ice cream! Unfortunately, many of us on restricted diets avoid apple pie due to the high fat crust and the excessive calories in premade apple pies. If you want to avoid the extra fat and calories, try baking your own apple pie with less sugar and fat. My pie can even be made with gluten free flour for people sensitive to wheat.

    Simply make an oatmeal crust with fat free yogurt and brown sugar and bake in the oven until brown. Mince approximately eight apples and add a few tablespoons of almond flour (or any type of all purpose flour), for thickening. Add some cinnamon and sugar to taste and mix together. Fill the oatmeal crust with the apple mixture and bake at 350 degrees until bubbly. Increase the nutrition value of the apple pie by topping the apple mixture with raisins and/or nuts.

    My Topless Apple Pie is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth without all the extra calories. Serve warm with a dollop of whip cream and enjoy!
