TAIPEI, Taiwan, March 23- Protest leaders of Taiwan's Sunflower student movement urge participants to remain peaceful, as the protest escalates in a sudden manner. They also call for a nationwide general strike.
Around 200 students stormed into Taiwan's Executive Yuan earlier on Sunday evening in this largely peaceful protest, the number of people occupying the executive yuan is increasing.
Physical altercations between the riot police and the students occurred, at least 10 people are wounded and hospitalized during the invasion.
They chanted slogans including, "Peace prevails!", "Withdraw services trade with China", as some of the protesters sit or lay on the ground, a strategy to save energy to prolong the protest.
President Ma Ying-jeou stressed the importance of services trade pact with China at a news conference Sunday morning, but the protesters aren't satisfied and decided to increase the scale of the protest.
