Baltimore Rapper D. King Demonstrates The Heart Of A King
CNN iReport Music Spotlight: D.King is Rap renegade determined to reach the upper echelon of the Hip Hop game. He's a don, a boss, a good fella and a "King." His hardcore lyrics, powerful stories and masterful delivery make D. King one of the most sort after emcees around. He is captivating. At a time when the tension between creativity and mediocrity is palpable, D. King is redefining Hip Hop with authenticity.
D.King's Hip-Hop journey has led him to various stops along the way including a stint at Jay-Z's now defunct Carter Faculty Record Label. He was signed to the label as a young emcee. D.King was one of the few individuals who had the pleasure to watch Jay-z's iconic "Blueprint" album get developed. He studied one of the greats and has incorporated what he learned into his own creative process.
D. King hails from Baltimore, MD. Baltimore is becoming a breeding ground for talented rappers like Bad Boy's Los. D. King is a throwback to vintage emceeing with an articulate, accessible, brisk brew of soul and Hip Hop. He can best be described as a cross between Kanye West and Ice Cube. His critically acclaimed mixtape "King Me" was hosted by Hot 97's DJ Kay Slay. D.King has collaborated with such stars as Snoop Dogg, Trina, Teairra Mari and Pusha T just to name a few.
D. King sits at the helm of 730Commission Records. The Hip Hop juggernaut recently appeared on "Sway In The Morning," which airs on Shade 45 Sirius/XM Radio. D. King delivered a dynamic freestyle that was praised by Sway and others. Moreover, Sway played the emcee's latest hit song entitled "Never Do" featuring rapper 360. D.King also announced the title of his upcoming EP which will be called "HIM - History In Motion."
According to the rapper, his EP will define a generation and galvanize the streets. It will be a mixture of underground flavor with commercial hits. (No corny gimmicks. No embellished tales. Just a very talented emcee.) D. King possesses a stylistic panache that reminds us of how great Rap music can be when the art takes precedence. With a goal to conquer the climate of mediocrity and a journey towards greatness, D. King is certainly worth keeping a tab on throughout 2014. D. King's business manager and in house producer is Hassan Shareef of N.B.S. Management & Black Magic Studios. To stay connected with D. King, please visit www.twitter.com/dking730.
