    The Art of Architecture

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Molly Lazaron stumbled upon the Hemisfèric while exploring traditional architecture in Valencia, Spain, during a trip in March 2014. The Hemisfèric is a large hall equipped with a projection room that screens IMAX, digital 3D and digital films. The structure was designed by Santiago Calatrava and inaugurated in 1998 as the first building in the City of Arts and Sciences to be opened to the public.

Lazaron said, "My favorite thing about this specific location in the City of Arts and Sciences was the modern feel in the middle of a very old city filled with years of history."

While in Valencia for the Las Fallas festival the weekend of March 14th, my friends and I explored the City of Arts and Sciences. This picture is of L'Hemisfèric, a large IMAX dome. All of the buildings in the surrounding area were striking and spectacular. Even though we traveled to Valencia for the famous festival, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of walking around this beautiful part of the city.
