    A Typical Day in Real Estate Is Not So Typical


    Real Estate is still about buying and selling real property including homes and condos and land but the way today's Realtors achieve those goals for their clients has changed.


    Andrew Smith from Kelowna BC talks about a day in Kelowna real estate transactions and how it has changed from 20 years ago when he first started as a Realtor with Royal Lepage. " It would have been normal at that time for a Realtor to go into the office and pick up the messages from the day before and return calls that next day,  no one expected any different. If a buyer asked about a property for sale a Realtor would have gone to the Real Estate book that was delivered once a month to all the real estate offices and searched all the MLS listings in the book to find the property his client was looking for and phone the listing Realtor to make an appointment to view and in turn would leave a message for the appointment and not expect to hear back until the next day.


    When an offer for the property was to be presented the same phone senerio could take place and the offer would have been presented at the sellers kitchen table by both Realtors when everyone could arrange to be there at the same time.


    Today if someone does not get a call returned within 20 minutes it is an insult and buying or selling a house can be conducted with Realtors and clients in different parts of the world through phone, email, skype and Google Hangouts. Such is the new Normal in Real estate transactions, but it still takes working with an experienced  Realtor with today's  technology to  put a real estate sale together.
