This iReport is part of an assignment:
Impact Your World
Open Letter to the government of Denmark
Open Letter to Kingdom of Denmark -
I found myself deeply concerned and appalled at the annual slaughter of innocent Wales in the Faroe Islands. I cannot begin to describe my frustration of killing of innocent and rare mammals. I understand that this is an old Viking custom however; it was conducted during the times when fish was plenty and abound. These rare creatures are endangered and an ongoing mass murder of these mammals is putting their entire species on a brink of extinction.
This is not an image that a civilized and modern country of Dane should be putting out to the world. Not only does it hurt its public image also the country is gaining a bad rep amongst tourists like myself who once thought this would be a desirable country to visit.
I urge the Great Kingdom of Dane to show sensibility and class and create legislation that reflects modern day thinking and outlaws senseless killing of these intelligent and innocent creatures.
