    Slap that Boot!

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     VVKeem took a group of teachers, students and parents on a 12-day tour of South Africa, where they visited the Kliptown Youth Program in Soweto. "I found the program through CNN when the founder of the program, Thulani Maldando, was one of the 10 finalists in the 2012 CNN Hero of the Year Awards," she said. The program's "mission is to provide educational support and after school activities for the youth of Kliptown."

During their visit, they were introduced to the African art of Gumboot dancing, which, VVKeem wrote, "Originally started in the mines as a way of communication" and "is now a unique and beautiful art form."
