Salute to troops
Commander Teddy Tokarz
I want to salute my Veteran, Commander Teddy Tokarz.. He was not in any current wars, nor was he in Vietnam or Korea. He faithfully served in WWII as a Naval Aviator in the Pacific. The courageousness he and his fellow troops displayed was great, and I salute them and him. He served his country proudly, and I had the privilege of helping him these past few years. He became my Uncle when I married into the family almost twenty-four years ago, but it was in the last two and a half years that he became my friend and my almost constant companion. My life became much richer from knowing him and caring for him. He was one of the smartest people I have ever known, and I benefited from that as well.
My Commander (as I often called him) took his final flight on Wednesday February 26, 2014. He took off to meet his Lord and loved ones at 8:31 that evening, and a piece of my heart and soul went with him.
So, therefore, I would like to salute Commander Teddy Tokarz, and send with him my parting words: Keep your airspeed up, and don't fly too low to the ground. So long and God Bless you, Sir.
Thank you for allowing me to share my story.
