    Wrigley Field memories

Montreal Expo's at the "Big Owe"

Here is a memory of our Cub Scout visit to the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. Guessing by my age, I would say this was around 1980. The Expo's old timer's were there before the game to meet the fans, and I have no idea who they were!

Montreal is more of a hockey town, but opening day was a great reason for high schoolers all over the city to skip school for the day.

The franchise played in MTl from 1969-2004. For the most part, games were played in the Olympic Stadium, or the "Big Owe" referring to the millions of taxpayer's dollars spent on the building. In 2004 the team moved cities and became the Nationals.

My wife really thinks this old picture is pretty funny, often making the joke it was my first experience with a blow up doll! ;-)
