Tell us the Good Stuff!
Replica White House, sculpted on the Caribbean island of Trinidad.
I'm an artist all the way from Trinidad and Tobago and I've recently constructed a replica miniature White House model, using concrete. For five weeks, I incessantly mixed, and sculpted my way to completing this daunting, but fun task. But before I could have commenced the construction of the house, I did thorough research on the building itself.
I found out about the deep history of the White House, and learnt about what the black slaves had to go through for it to be completed. In addition, I viewed the blueprints of the building online, and I memorized the blueprints. I was then able to build the entire White House complex, based on my memory of what I saw about it online. All the while I was building it, I felt a great sense of empathy for the slaves who built the real White House, and felt even prouder of the fact that a black person now runs the free-world, from there today.
That's the main reason why I built it, because I was so inspired by Barack Obama being re-elected as president of the United States! I look up to him, he's a great role-model for young folks like myself out here in this world. It would be a dream-come-true, if you feature my story on your show, for not only the world to see, but also for the president to see as well, now that would be awesome!
It has been my pleasure sharing my story with you guys. sincerely, an inspired young man. :)
