This iReport is part of an assignment:
A Whole New World
The Obama administration has finally decided that enough children have lost their lives to this vicious disease, they have committed to do all they can to protect our future and those of our children.
In a newly released article Obama boldly declares a war on pediatric cancer….using phrases like “we will use every resource to protect our American children” and “Pediatric cancer is not rare but an epidemic that has been stealing our children for far too long”. The President vows to match these brave young warriors fight and put into effect immediately a bill that mandates equal government funding for all American’s effected with cancer. That means children affected with cancer will receive an equal share of the 2014 budget of $4.923 billion that has been allocated to the National Cancer Institute instead of the usual mere 3-4% that is normally dispersed out to our smallest American’s. He calls it the “Match My Fight” campaign. Obama is also strongly encouraging all cancer organization’s such as the American Cancer Society to follow suit by voluntarily restructuring their budgets before the bill passes that will require equal funding for children who are affected with cancers….Overnight President Obama has become a super hero of epic proportions for children suffering from cancer.
First Lady Michelle Obama is even getting in on the action and has dropped her crusade to slim the waistlines of American children. She announced that she will be shaving her head in support of the St. Baldricks Foundation’s mission to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Surely Mrs. Obama’s shiny bald head will put her in the history books as the most compassionate and fashionable first lady to ever grace the halls of the White House. Amazingly, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga have also jumped on board this new trend that is now sweeping the nation and have also volunteered to shave their heads. They even one upped the First Lady by offering to match all donations made with their own funds….makes me want to run out right now and buy both their CD’s. Facebook is now being swamped with pictures of supporters shaving their heads, donating blood, raising and donating money all for pediatric cancer research.
It’s all just so amazing…I am sure every cancer stricken child and parent can feel the love. I hear oncologists and cancer hospitals around the nation are claiming this as a victory for every American.
Sadly this April Fool’s Day 7 American children will die from cancer.
The joke is on all of us.
If you want to help our children in their war against cancer please write your local congressman/woman today and tell them why children with cancer deserve equal funding and inform them if they want your vote come election time then they need to initiate change.
