    London Smog

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     3Bobby lives in Essex, England, and works in London. "I think the pollution in my place is worse than in central London," he said.
    - rachel8, CNN iReport producer

The high level of pollution in London today is due to the light easterly winds continuing to bring in pollutants and some of the pollution was dust blown in from the Saharan desert in North Africa, according to Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

The Met Office - United Kingdom's national weather service has issued the pollution forecast as follows:

Today - Moderate to High air pollution for central and southeast England with Very High levels in East Anglia.

The photo shows the Tower Bridge area covered with smog today (2 April 2014) at 10a.m. local time. Picture was taken from London Bridge.
