    San Diego Central Library

     

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     The Central Library is part of the San Diego public library system, and "anyone can go in and check out a book, download a book, [use the] free wifi or just ... relax and people watch," said ChrisMorrow, who visited for a media event a few days after it opened last fall.

    This beautiful library opened late last year in San Diego. Located downtown and called, The Central Library.

     

    The 297,673 square foot, nine story structure includes a charter high school, 1.25 million volumes, landmark whistling dome, 250 seat auditorium, and energy efficient. This amazing public area on 222 Park Boulevard was 100% funded by donations (185 million) and features the only customized dome structure in California.
