    Brutal architecture, graceful innards

     
    Having spent a lot of time in Paris as a tourist, much time was spent in the more popular venues however the national library is one of the sites that as a landscape/architecture photographer I wanted to visit. Rather a grand structure, but with something of an industrial ugliness to it, the library is an interesting place to visit.

    Inside, the various library categories are nicely broken out and once you get out of the sometimes-noisy main corridors, the inner sanctums are peaceful respites from the bustle of the city, complete with the classical library smell.
