Living like refugees - Atlanta apartment group demands changes.

Sunday, April 6th, 2014 -- Giant holes in walls, burst pipes gushing water, black mold, rust-congested pipes - a group of residents is fed up and is taking action. The demand for change is simple: fix the units.

Two residents offered a tour of their places, and the findings were astonishing: rusty razor blades had spilled out of the crumbling walls when pipes had burst, some walls had giant holes, and a heavy stench that forced us all outside for fresh air.

The damage from the flooding is so extensive that one resident - Shaun Ridgway - has lost everything she owns, including her Bachelor's thesis. All of her art and photography - lifetime experiences that cannot be recreated - have been destroyed in the flooding. If you want to support her, visit her GoFundMe page at: [http://www.gofundme.com/834x8s].

The first disaster support and action campaign meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2014 at 5:00 pm - to be held at 1164 Alta Avenue, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Copies of a disaster recovery and action campaign guide will be distributed at the event. Bottled and jugged water is desperately needed as the water has been shut off and turned back on periodically without notice to residents.
