South Texas & South Korea: Relationships & Economics
McAllen delegation met with leaders from South Korea during the week of March 30 in Daejeon to sign a sister city agreement and collaborate on innovative ideas and cultures to be implemented in South Texas. The partnership dates back to relationships and networking made by professors from KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), McAllen Economic Development Corporation and The University of Texas Pan American (UTPA). McAllen and UTPA presented in front of 40 CEO's looking to commercialize their business for the U.S. market. An advantage for McAllen and South Texas that happened only because of one thing, two words: genuine relationships.
