Rise Of E-Shopping Trend In The UAE To Increase Live Chat Support Providing Business

As of 2013, the trend of online shopping in the UAE showed a steady growth, with the country still holding its position as the leading e-commerce nation in the Middle East. In 2014 and in the years to come, the e-commerce sector in the country is likely to bloom as more and more people are turning towards online shopping.

The Online Behavior Study, conducted by MasterCard in 2013, showed that the UAE stood tall amongst other countries in the Middle East, holding the largest percentage of online shoppers that year. With 51% of the consumers shopping on the virtual medium of internet, the report indicated that the percentage is likely to shoot further in the next 3 to 5 years, as the nation becomes more tech-savvy.

At the end of 2013, the country had an internet penetration rate of 71%, with the smart phone ownership rate of 75%. Using the data, it was estimated that by 2018 the revenue generated by e-commerce in the UAE would be around $10 billion.

While it is clear that the rise in e-shopping trend is bringing an increase in number of e-stores, and the growing popularity of online shopping trend is also paving way for the success of online chat support providing companies. Cashing on the idea that customers require convenience while shopping, chat support providing companies are striving to humanize the online shopping experience.

Making a parallel between real time and online shopping it is suggested that customers require similar kind of assistance while shopping online, as they do while shopping in a brick and mortar store. This suggestion is backed by numerous research studies (for instance by Forrester in 2012 and WebGreeter® in 2013), which show that customers who utilize live chat are likely to shop more than those who do not.

In order to reshape their online customer services, and to provide maximum customer convenience, online businesses are rapidly turning to companies that provide live chat support.

As the number of online support businesses increases, more and more similar companies are likely to emerge in the market. Being a hub of multinational organizations, numerous international live chat providing companies are also establishing their businesses in the UAE. For example, a US based live chat software and chat service providing company Live Admins, is now running its business from the UAE as well selling its services to companies based in the UAE and in other parts of the world.

With the e-commerce in UAE blooming, it is estimated that the companies, which are in the business of providing live chat services and live chat software are likely to bask under its glory and enjoy the sweet fruit of success.
