    Sunflower Movement

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     thorlee lives in San Francisco but is currently visiting his hometown in Taiwan. While he was in Taipei, he photographed the protesters of the Sunshine Movement rallying together outside the Legislative Yuan to oppose the Cross-Strait Services Trade Agreement between China and Taiwan.

Thorlee has participated in rallies in support of the Sunshine Movement back in San Franciso. "Taiwanese people appreciate the supports that come from around the world during this period," he said. He tells us that student protesters have decided to leave the Legislative Yuan as a group today, April 10, at 6 p.m. UTC. "Leaving the Legislative Yuan is not the end of the Movement."

Around Legislative Yuan, hundreds people, from students to elders, keep rallying and advocating legalizing service trade pace between Taiwan and China. Students came from Hong Kong print brochures to support this democracy movement. Volunteer students are well organized on news publishment, suppliers distribution, civic conferences host, event moving direction, medical support, and anything you can imagine to carry on with the movement peacefully.

This is Sunflower Movement, started from last year when the pact was signed in non-transparent deal, burst out in March 18th when a legislator announced the review process of pact passed in secret, and leaded students occupied Legislative Yuan and more than five hundred thousands people rallied in front of the Presidential Palace to protest this unfair and under-the-table Cross-Strait Services Trade Agreement.

April 7th, a raining Monday night, movement leaders announced there are going to return Legislative Yuan on April 10th 6:00 pm and take more actions instead of simply defending. Sunflower Movement is keeping going.
