    Rwanda Through My Eyes

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     konacraig traveled to Rwanda in September 2010 originally because he wanted to photograph Mountain gorillas in the wild and see another country in Africa. When he got there, he was impressed with how easy it was to travel within the country, as well as the positive outlook of its people. “What I remember most about the country was the peoples' universal desire to move forward with life and put their past behind them. The optimism of the kids was tremendous,” he said. “For people wanting to visit Africa, GO TO RWANDA, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

I traveled through Rwanda 3 years ago. I am not showing you photos of the mass graves or the treble images which accompany what happened to the country over twenty years ago. What I am showing you is the better parts of Rwanda. The wildlife, the people in the villages, the farmers and the life which has happened after the dark period of the country.

I would recommend traveling to Rwanda. Stay away from the border areas and you will experience one of the most interesting countries in Africa. Rich in people and culture, it is a treat from the more commercialized parts of the continent.
