Dr. Paul Drago: Extraordinary Otolaryngologist
Dr. Paul Drago has been a practicing physician for 25 years. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology at the University of Maryland with an honors G.P.A. of 3.9. As an undergraduate, Paul Drago M.D. was in the Freshman Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta and the National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi. Furthermore, he has received undergraduate honors with becoming a Provost Scholar, making the Dean’s List each semester, receiving the President’s Scholarship Award, being part of the Golden Key National Honors Society, as well as becoming a Pre-Medical Counselor and teaching assistant in Zoology.
Paul Drago M.D. attended and graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Following that experience, he completed his surgical residency at Yale University. Afterwards, he completed a pediatric reconstructive fellowship in England, as well as an adult reconstructive fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Following that experience, he became a Resident in Otolaryngology at University Hospitals of Cleveland, in Cleveland, Ohio.
He is currently an otolaryngologist and medical director with Barnwell Community Hospital.
Dr. Paul Drago’s specialties include the ENT (ear nose throat) sinus surgeries. Previously, he worked as a staff physician and Otolaryngology consultant with the Department of Corrections, Kershaw, Evans, and Turbeville in South Carolina, and also worked in Genesis ENT & PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before that experience, Paul Drago M.D. worked at the Central Carolina Ear, Nose, Throat & Audiological Center P.A. in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
He is an avid enthusiast of jazz and theater. He also enjoys basketball, football, racquetball, and golfing with friends. In his free time, Paul Drago M.D. is very active in maintaining his health and enjoys participating in triathlons. He has also written a book entitled, “The Key Guide to Health and Wellness.” He also enjoys cooking different dishes and experimenting with different recipes. Dr. Paul Drago’s colleagues would describe him as a very caring, thoughtful, hard-working person who is excited to continually make a difference in the world. He feels very blessed and appreciative to have the opportunity to help his patients thrive. He is most proud of having the opportunity to save numerous lives while working as a paramedic in Harlem.
Throughout his life, Dr. Paul Drago has also been actively involved in serving local communities, participating in Promise Keepers, volunteering at the soup kitchen and American Cancer Society, and also previously becoming the head coach for the St. Andrews 4th and 5th grade baseball team.
