This iReport is part of an assignment:
    In praise of “other mothers”

I am who I am, because of you!

    Thank you Mom!
I was 18 years old when I went to live with you.
You allow me to share your life with you, when I was so lost and confused.
    You never left me alone.
Always giving me words of wisdom and lots and lots of love.
You gave me the opportunity to learn how to be responsible and loved!
And I met so many fantastic and wonderful people .
    Your heart is so big!
Only a wonderful woman is able to accommodate one more person in a family that was already big.
We had many economic difficulties , but one thing was always there, the most important : love.
I gained two beautiful sisters .
A sweet grandmother , intelligent and very open mind . A second father .
And after that, so many other wonderful people who were adopting me, as part of the family.

(I almost died in December 16, 2013, with an aneurysm that burst.
    I had a brain surgery.
    I survived against all odds.)
I know your prayers were with me.
And now its the right time to tell you:
thank you so much for all this years.
You already know that, but I need to say it again and again.
I am a better person because of you.
You taught me so many things, you gave me great and honorable values, you gave me the chance of growing up knowing what happiness and unconditional love are.

We are living far away, I am in the USA and you in Africa-Mozambique, but we talk everyday.
And one day I will go there to give you one more hug and tell you: thank you!
Thank you for being such an amazing Human Being!
    I love you very much.
