The "Granny Dress" from the 60's

In the early 60's there were strict dress codes in my boarding school and no slacks were allowed. Straight skirts, shirt dresses, sack dresses and even MooMoo's, a tropical type dress was the norm.  There was a short period in the 60's where granny dresses were trying to find a place in fashion, but it didn't last.  As you can see I wasn't a happy camper trying to get around in my long dress.

Also, most of my photos from the 60's were in black and white?  Hmmm!

I remember having a conversation with my Grandfather in the late 60's in New England regarding bell bottoms and told him I didn't think I could follow that trend.  He said when he was a young man there was a period when bell bottoms were in style and he said just wait awhile and it will change.  Sure enough it did, he was right.  The one thing we can always depend upon is change!
