Myrtle Beach is a small city in South Carolina.  It is located in the center of a large stretch of beach known as the Grand Strand. Myrtle Beach is a major tourist destination and boasts a subtropical climate and beautiful beaches.  Myrtle beach enjoys year-round sunshine and has short and mild winters.  The place attracts approximately 14 million visitors each spring/summer/fall. Visitors come from various regions around the globe including Canada, Germany and the UK.

A distinct feature about Myrtle Beach is the fact that is a man-made island.  The city has a total area of 23.55 sq. miles. Apart from its exquisite beaches, Myrtle Beach also hosts various musical concerts, conventions and other events.  It is also home to many golf courses, amusement parks, aquarium, theaters, night shopping complexes, night clubs and restaurants.

The city is also home to the largest water park on the eastern seaboard, the Myrtle Waves. According to the National Geographic, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is the nation’s #3 boardwalk. It has also been rated as one of the best boardwalks in the US by Travel + Leisure magazine.  In addition, visitors love the Myrtle Beach Sky wheel, a 200 foot observation wheel with glass gondolas.  It is also the first of its kind in the US.

The Myrtle Beach State Park is another major tourist attraction.  Nestled among the oceanfront maritime forest, the park offers one of the best surf fishing.  It also has a terrific natural trail and a stunning ocean view. There are also several Myrtle Beach SC hotels that offer excellent accommodation and facilities.  There are approximately 460 hotels, many of which are located right on the beach front.

Myrtle Beach also has many charms during Spring and offers one of the best fruit-picking experiences.  Indigo Farms, located at a 30 minute drive north of Myrtle Beach offers sweet Chandler and Camarosa strawberries from their pick-your-own fields.  The Indigo farmers market also has many locally grown veggies and nuts. Not only that, tourists can also take advantage of the Garden Center where they can find natural herbs such as rosemary, mint, thyme, dill, parsley and so on.

Overall, the Myrtle Beach is a fantastic destination for tourists who want to enjoy the sun, sand and water.  It is a prime location for swimming, hiking, fishing and biking and is also an ideal location for meetings, conferences, exhibitions and other such events.
