Communicating through autism
Music Speaks To Me
Over the years, I have found that when I cannot communicate with others and if I need to be alone and I am trying to process something, I often turn to music.
Music does something for me that nothing else can.
When I am alone and I listen to my favorite Broadway musical ballads or something by Beethoven, I will often listen to the same song repeatedly, sometime for hours at a time on repeat, I often get this sense of sensory overload that if I allow it to - it turns into something positive. It makes me itch to write poetry and analyzing lyrics or the tone of a symphony can help me process my own feelings.
Music speaks to me in a very intense way. It always has.
