    Songkran in Rayong

At around 9am today (13/04/14) 130+ monks received alms from the public who had gathered to mark the beginning of the Songkran Festival in Thailand. The organisers lined up chairs from which the public could offer food and drinks to the monks as they passed by and receive their blessings. So much was given that helpers followed the monks with sacks in which to place the offerings as their alms bowls filled continuously. A peaceful and profound way to begin any festival.
