    California Desert Singers

We have lots of Singers in the High Desert of Southern California and here are a couple of photos & video. I discovered yesterday that we have at least one baby Scott's Oriole living on our land. We have had the parents living nearby for many years, but this is the first time I have noticed a small one...very cute. He has the same wonderful voice as his parents. I have also included photos of the California Thrasher who also has a Very Big Beautiful voice. I discovered this when I tracked down the singing several years ago & found a big Thrasher sitting on top of a bush singing his heart out...I was surprised! I took video back then but didn't get any yet this year. (There may be the older singing Thrasher back in my previous stories). Note the size of the feet & nails on the Thrasher.
It's great to have such talented furry locals...one of the best is the Mocking Bird who has a Giant Bag of Songs & I'll make an effort to get it on video soon.
