    Common Frog, Rare Color

     
    This is an exceedingly rare morph of a very common frog. The green frog (Rana clamitrans) is common in much of the eastern part of the U.S., but the blue head and back is a rare genetic manifestation. This was taken in Dublin, New Hampshire. Blue does not make for good camouflage and he was eaten by a snake after a couple days.
