The shrines of St. Rocco.. Blessed Good Friday and happy Easter..
It is also the home of St. Rocco's church, the patron saint of the plague, the sick and where they hold the famous Feast of St. Rocco, the best Italian feast in the east, mostly for it's notorious homemade sausage and peppers, like grandma made them. They cook them right on the premises.
What I noticed in my morning walks in the neighborhood is just about every other house has a shrine to Jesus or Mary or one of the saints. In fact I have one on my deck of St. Francis (last picture.)
I've been collecting these photos waiting for an opportunity to post them. It hasn't been a good winter and the flowers aren't blossoming but I thought today was a good day as any to post them as it is Good Friday and Easter this Sunday.
I would like to wish everyone a Good Friday in observation of Jesus, my savior who gave his life so we may have eternal and a joyous Easter with good things to come.. Also a good Passover for my Jewish friends..
