    Wondercon Day 1

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Weszor attended the first day of WonderCon, an annual comic book convention held in Anaheim, California, and runs through the weekend of April 18. A WonderCon veteran, he says the convention is great because there’s always something new. 'Each year has its own memories and entertainment that makes it unique to other conventions. For example, the highlight on my first day was one of the costumed fans dressed as Khal Drogo from "Game of Thrones" blew this war horn in front of the convention center with hundreds of people around that cheered,’ he said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

With comic convention season underway, many residents in Southern California will flock this weekend to the Anaheim Convention Center for WonderCon 2014. Organized by Comic Con International, the same group that does the massive San Diego Comic Con every year, Wondercon presents an opportunity for families, local residents, and fans of all kinds to enjoy the Southern California convention atmosphere without the preparation needed for the main con in July.

Over 50,000 attendees are expected to enjoy the convention this year, according the OC Register.
