Finding A Forever Home: Importance of Adoption
The local community can help support shelters like Coulee Region Humane Society in many ways. As the CRHS is a non-profit, the importance of volunteers is immense. Volunteers can become involved in many ways, such as becoming dog or cat handlers, participating in housekeeping chores, and working towards properly socializing the animals. In any unique way one chooses to get involved within their local humane society, they will be creating a lasting impression in the lives of the animals.
Thursday, April 24th at 4:30- 7:30 p.m. the Coulee Region Humane Society will be partaking in its annual Spaghetti Dinner Event located at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on 612 Division St, La Crosse. Purchase your ticket at the Coulee Region Humane Society in advance or the day of the event at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Tickets are only six dollars, and people can dine in or even carry out. Participants will enjoy a spaghetti dinner complete with salad and bread sticks, raffle prizes, and bake sale items. All proceeds will benefit spay and neuter funds to assist low income pet owners.
Following the success of many local events showcasing the CRHS’s current animals, a small adoption event will be taking place May 2-4, at Petsmart in Onalaska. The event will be showcasing three current dogs, and six cats searching to find a loving home. Stop by this local event to help support the hard work of the Coulee Region Humane Society.
As mentioned, it is important to remember local shelters when thinking of adding a new furry friend to the family. Shelter animals are full of love and waiting patiently to find their forever home. Help animals in your community get the love and care they deserve. Contact your local humane society today and start getting involved.
