    Travel photo of the day

    Picton, New Zealand

This past winter I, along with 34 other adventurous college students, embarked on a journey throughout New Zealand. Having the opportunity to be there for three weeks allowed me to fully appreciate all that New Zealand had to offer. After having traveled to many countries in my life, I do not hesitate when I say that New Zealand was my favorite. I would encourage people from all stages of life to go experience this beautiful country. During my trip I stayed in Queenstown, Aoraki/Mount Cook, Christchurch, Kaikoura, Motueka, and Wellington, although I did visit many more places.
I chose this particular image in Picton, New Zealand because I think it represents what New Zealand is truly about, nature. While taking this picture, I was waiting to board the Picton Ferry (left side of picture) which will take you to the North Island of New Zealand. On the ferry ride one can see many different fjords and sounds that are absolutely beautiful. Anywhere that you go throughout the country you will see breath taking scenery. There are many outdoor activities to participate in while in New Zealand that include hiking, skiing, bungee jumping, skydiving, kayaking, surfing, hang-gliding, mountain biking, jet boating, and much more. New Zealand is also known for their wineries, with the main wine produced being Sauvignon Blanc. So whether you prefer a place where you can sit back and relax or a place to have an exciting adventure, New Zealand is a destination worth experiencing.
